Setting the track towards megasite management plan approval

After defining the scope of the problem at the megasite
(see: Starting IMS -> Problem definition) it is necessary to consider the group of stakeholders (GOS) that have direct or indirect interests related to the megasite, who can influence or be affected by the outcome of the megasite management and who would be likely to be involved in the further decision-making process upon remediation and redevelopment of the area. Often some form of a stakeholder group already exists at the megasite, which might consist of the site owners and authorities responsible for the area. Frequently these are parties directly involved in the site development and use. However, in many cases only some of the authorities or responsible parties that are needed for good decision-making are united in a group of stakeholders.

The figure below describes which parties could play a role as stakeholders.

Output

The output of this step is the formation of the GOS, including its organization and identification of responsibilities.
