Introduction
The geology of New Orleans in relation with groundwater is assessed through historic documents and a field campaign. The findings in relation to subsurface and subsidence vulnerability are available in the report presented below. Furthermore, this page refers to an open-access database of boreholes across New Orleans.
The interactive map below shows two geological cross sections through New Orleans. Clicking on a line results in a popup where a link is presented which will open up (in a new tab) an image of the profile of request.
