First unpack the archive CoDeS_2_0_excl_Python_code.7z at a convenient location on your PC
Please make sure the location does not contain any dots "."

Your plain copy of Delta Shell does not yet contain the CoDeS 2.0 Python scripts, so these need to be added first.

All CoDeS 2.0 Python scripts can be found in this OpenEarth repository:

   https://svn.oss.deltares.nl/repos/openearthtools/trunk/python/applications/DeltaShell/applications/CoDeS/CoDeS_2.0/

To get access to these codes, freely sign up for OpenEarth on the Deltares open source website:

   https://oss.deltares.nl/

Now, the CoDeS 2.0 Python scripts can be checked-out to your computer using TortoiseSVN.

If you are unsure how to work with TortoiseSVN, please refer to this OpenEarth TortoiseSVN check-out manual:

All CoDeS 2.0 Python scripts need to be copied or checked-out to the following location:

   .\CoDeS_2_0\plugins\CoDeS\Scripts\

So to this folder, you should check-out or copy the sub-folders such as BreakwaterDesignTool, CoastlineDevelopmentTool, etc.


You can now start CoDeS 2.0 through:

   .\CoDeS_2_0\Start CoDeS 2.0.bat

We recommend making a shortcut to this file, e.g. on the Desktop, and adding the CoDeS icon to this shortcut.
This can be done through the properties of the shortcut, and selecting the CoDeS.ico icon file.


Some example CoDeS scenarios can be loaded into CoDeS from:

   .\CoDeS_2_0\Examples\.\*.dsproj

 - If the software doesn't work, try the following:
 
     - Try cleaning your Delta Shell AppData folder. This folder can be found at:
          c:\Users\*you_user_account*\AppData\Local\Deltares\    (note that this is often a hidden folder)
     - Try removing your CoDeS 2.0 installation and (re-)unpack/setup CoDeS 2.0
     - Make sure .NET 4.6.1 (or higher) is installed on your PC
       (this is by default included with Windows 10 onwards, but should be installed separately on Windows 7)

 - Make sure that the folder in which CoDeS is placed does not contain any dots (.), if these are present,
   the Diffrac-2DH wave penetration code will not be executed properly, and a warning will be thrown.
   In case Diffrac-2DH still does not work properly without having any dots in your CoDeS path,
   try placing CoDeS at a location with a shorter path (few folders with short folder names).

 - When saving response curve changes in the eCoDeS tool, note that all response curves will be
   automatically activated, these can subsequently be de-activated again
   
 - Some actions in eCoDeS requires closure of and re-opening of the tool, which is indicated via pop-ups.
 
 - The map-coordinate system cannot be changed due to the use of Satellite and OpenStreetMap imagery.
   Note however, that input data (e.g. bathymetry) can be converted automatically by indicating its coordinate system.
