<TheThe research objective of this master thesis is to objectively demonstrate the added value of state-of-the-art recirculation modelling compared to a typical straight-forward modeling approach for the optimization of the intake and outfall configuration of a power plant. The added value will be demonstrated based on the following indicators:
- Relative temperature increase (distribution) at cooling water intake.
- Resulting amount of infrastructure required.
- Resulting costs and savings during the construction and operating stage of the power plant.>
