<insert text>Ship motion reduction with ShoreTension®
{panel}

*Using ShoreTension® in complex port geometries and swell conditions*

The ShoreTension^®^ system can be used to reduce ship motions of moored ships in ports. Reducing ship motions benefits the on\- and off-loading capacity. ShoreTension^®^ can add a huge advantage to a port design. Until now, there is no thoroughly validated software available to predict the ship motion reduction due to the application of the ShoreTension^®^ system. In January 2013, full-scale trails have been preformed in the Port of Sines, Portugal. This thesis research is on the validation of three coupled simulation models that can be used to predict the reduction due to the application of the ShoreTension^®^ system, using the full-scale measurements' data.

*Research Goal: Predicting reduction of low frequency ship motions due to the application of ShoreTension{*}{*}^®^* *modules in a complex port geometry and swell conditions*

This thesis research is performed in cooperation with Royal HaskoningDHV and Deltares under the supervision of Prof. R.H.M. Huijsmans of the Delft University of Technology.
