OpenEarth provides an integral approach for data, models and tools. Currently there are tens of Gb of data hosted by OpenEarthTools and over 2000 Matlab functions. Whereas initially OpenEarth faced the challange that not enough data, models and toosl were provided, currently we face the challenge that almost too much is availble. This 'getting started' introduces the structure behind this overwhelming amount of information.

The structure begind the data, models and tools is provided in the sketch below.

The workflow for OpenEarth developers that provide the data, models and tools is 1-2-3, whereas the workflow for users that use the data, models and tools is 3-201. This 'getting started' is primarily meant for users.

  • 3. Google Earth feeds can be obtained without password restrictions.
  • 2. NetCDF ddata can be obtained without password restrictions
  • 1. Raw data, model schematisations and tools can be provided for free with a a free username password. When you want to access these, you are already a developer, and we give you write access. To prevent misuse, and to pay proper credit yo your contribution, we require all developers to request a free username.
