Start by adding a new script to the Scripts folder in the scripting Toolbox. You can name that script SOBEK3Tutorial.

The corresponding editor view will be automatically opened.

In this tutorial, we offer two different methods to create a Sobek 3 water flow model:

1. By importing an already existing SOBEK 2.1x flow model. This first method is much faster but it requires you to have all the files corresponding to an already existing 2.1x flow model.
2. By generating from scratch the flow model step by step from several source files (e.g. GIS shape files and csv files). This other way is slower but it gives you a better insight in how each of the features can be built by using external separate files. 

You can choose either path to walk through the tutorial. You will be able to follow the next steps of the scripting tutorial without any problem regardless the method you choose to build the flow model.
