Introduction

Often in consultancy projects, there is a lack of good quality bathymetric information. Navigation charts can be a good and reliable data source. In Delft Dashboard the navigation charts from the US Coast NOAA and Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore are implemented.

Usage of the toolbox

The 'Navigation Charts' toolbox can be used to upload more detailed bathymetry information to the model. A number of “Available Databases” will appear in the Working Space.

1. Use “Select Chart” to identify a specific dataset. 
2. “Export Shorelines”, “Export Contours” and “Export Soundings” can be used to export shorelines, contours, and specific soundings to ASCII file. As can be seen in the Figure below, the yellow areas represent the shore above MSL.
