The network water level demand is considered as positive. It applied in different ways depends on where it is located. There are three options:
- on the large lakes (IJsselmeer, Markermeer, Veluwerandmeren) - the demand is removed, as they have their own water level calculation in QWAST
- nodes that are not lakes: used as QExtraction
- branches: it is used as minimum inflow from the branches
