Data assimilation setting
The results of Real World Experiment 1 are not really promising. Our guess is that this is due to spurious correlation between PO4 and the algal. To investigate this we have performed this experiment. The setting of this experiment is exactly the same as in Real World Experiment 1, but only observed Algal Diatom, Algal Green Algae, and Algal Cyanobacteria from location 5004A10 are assimilated.
Results
The results of this experiment are shown in the figures below. The EnKF successfully improved the accuracy of forecast Algal Diatom. It also improved the forecast of Algal Green and Algal Cyanobacteria at most locations.
