Introduction

In this section a dictionary is presented for the GUI of SOBEK. This dictionary is not supposed to be complete, but it will contain these items that are ambiguous.

The attachments contain an alternative list of terms as used in the PlanningKit. The PlanningKit bases it terminology on the terminology developed for DSS's in the FLOODsite project.

 Terminology

Name

Description

Case

Complete set of data, consisting of model, boundary conditions, meteo data, calculation results, etc. for performing a model run. In the DelftShell term case is not used, data or models are grouped into folders so user can use all data and models in one folder as a case.

Project

A collection of one or more 'cases'. Saving several cases in a project can be useful when a user wants to compare different models.

    I'd suggest to collect all terminologies here and then select one set of terms used in the implementation (classes, database tables, etc.) and then terminology used in specific application if it is really required, the best would be just to used one set of terms.

    For the above:

    • Task instead of Case
    • TaskRun instead of Run

    Task is alternative to Case in old CMT or Composition in the OpenMI.
