The stakeholders' choice

Introduction

The recommended adjustments of the Preferred Megasite RMS as put forward during the GOS decision-making meeting should be incorporated into the Final RMS and presented to the GOS for the final approval. This can be achieved by the optimization and technical detailing of the chosen Preferred RMS (see Figure below). The final checks should also include correspondence with legal requirements, as well as consideration of organizational and financial consequences. The above mentioned tasks are purely technical and are meant to reach the level of detailing that would be acceptable for the Megasite Expert Team (MET) to carry out further elaboration of the Megasite Management Plan.

The figure below describes the process of moving from a preferred megasite risk management scenario to a final megasite risk management scenario.

  • check compliance with boundary conditions (legal, social, etc.),
  • technical detailing,
  • technical optimization,
  • cost-benefit analysis,
  • organizational consequences,
  • final RMS
