To find a dataset in the catalogue of the Deltares Data Portal, type in one or more keywords (separated by spaces) in the "Search" box and press the button with the magnifying glass.

If you want to find data based on a geographical or a temporal extent, click on "Advanced search". A new search screen opens, see image below. On the map you can see the spatial extent of the datasets in the catalogue, delineated by the orange rectangles. You can make a search request based on the 'What', 'When' and 'Where' criteria. If you leave one blank the criteria will not be used. 

What: type one or more search terms. The site will automatically make suggestions based on your input.

When: select the time (period) for which the dataset provides information.

Where: first, zoom in on the world map to the area of interest. Next, select the "Draw" button  on the top left to select an area. The spatial extent is shown by a red rectangle. Click on the Draw button again to deselect the Draw tool.

When done, press enter or the "Search" button. The results are shown below. Depending on the search results, on the left side of the screen are a set of filters to further narrow down the results.

The tiles of the search results show basic information on the dataset. Click on a tile to see detailed information, including links to the dataset itself. The figure below shows an example of the detailed view of the Gebco08 dataset. Depending on the available resources of the dataset, one or more links and downloads are shown.
