In the Time series dialog window it is possible to change the look and feel of the displayed timeseries. By pressing the right mouse button, in the chart area of the display, a list will appear containing  the option Properties... (see figure 1).

Selecting the Properties... menu item will make the Chart Properties editor appear. The Chart Properties editor tabs depend on the type of plot.


Note! The changes of the Chart Properties editor are not persistent and only remain in affect until the next update of the chart.
This does give the user enough time to save the altered display as an image.

Series tab

Using the Series tab is possible to alter the display properties of the timeseries arrays. To change the properties of an array select the series descriptor in the drop down box at the top of the panel. Labels can be edited in the Labels tab. Display properties can be edited in the Lines tab or the Areas tab depending if the selected series is line, bar or belongs to an area. To reset the properties to their default values, click the Return to defaults checkbox.

Labels tab

The label tab (see figure 2) allows the user to override the label of a series with their own text.

Lines tab

The lines tab (see figure 3) allows the user to change the properties of lines and line markers.

  • Line - visible: toggles visibility of line
  • Line - style: change the line style
  • Line - color: change the line color
  • Line - size: change the line width
  • Marker - visible: toggles visibility of line markers
  • Marker - style: change the marker shape
  • Marker - size: change size of marker

Areas tab

The areas tab (see figure 4) allows the user to change the properties of areas such as bars and markers

  • Border - visible: toggles visibility of area border
  • Border - style: change the border style
  • Border - color: change the border color
  • Border - size: change the border width
  • Area - visible: toggle the visibility of the fill color

  • Area - color: change the area fill color

Title tab

The Title tab (see figure 5) allows the user to change the properties of the plot title.

  • General - Show Title: toggles visibility of the title
  • General - Text: change the title text
  • General - font: change the title font
  • General - color: change the title color

Plot tab

The Plot tab allows the user to change the properties of the plot.

Domain Axis or Range Axis tab

(see figure 6)

  • General - Label: change the axis label text
  • General - Font: change the axis label font
  • General - Paint: change the axis label color


  • Ticks - Show ticks label: toggle visibility of tick labels
  • Ticks - Tick label font: change the tick labels font
  • Ticks - Show tick marks: toggle visibility of tick marks

Appearance tab

  • General - Outline stroke: change the stroke of the outline
  • General - Outline paint: change the paint of the outline
  • General - Background paint: change the background paint of the plot
  • General - Orientation: change the orientation of the plot
