There is a fixed timeout of 10s for the first database connection. The reason for this fixed number, is that this would be treating the symptom and not A longer timeout would hide symptoms and not solve the problem. If this timeout would be longer, also performance is not expected to be optimal. If this happens, please send the full log file so that we can know the OS version, Delft-FEWS release version, database flavour and error message.
