A key feature of DELFT-FEWS is its ability to run external modules to provide essential forecasting functionality. These modules may be developed by Delft Hydraulics Deltares as well as by other companies or institutions. The DELFT-FEWS system does not have any knowledge of the specific implementation of these modules. It is rather the central philosophy to have an open system, that is able to treat external modules as plug-ins that can be used if needed.
