The Top menu describes the most generic functions , which allows switching between different such as toolboxes, bathymetries, coordinate systems and saving working directories and files options for files that are generated during your Delft Dashboard working session. The Top menu also includes a number of features which allows to Zoom in, Zoom out, Pan and refresh the bathymetry visualized in the and Refresh the Map View.

The Delft3D-FLOW menu in Delft Dashboard resembles the interface of the Delft3D-FLOW modelling suite. This menu can be used to switch between different menu items which allow the editing of different sections of the edit the Delft3D-FLOW steering file (i.e. MDF-file) . This means the user can start including or excluding and thus gives the opportunity to e.g. include or exclude physical processes, define physical and numerical parameters, and add  or to add monitoring stations. The main difference with respect to the Delft3D-FLOW interface is the Toolbox Tab, which does not exist in Delft3D-Flow. Using this Tab it is possible to switch between different available toolboxes available trough the Toolbox Tab on the Top  The items that are displayed here, depend on the choice in the Toolbox Tab of the Top Menu. As the default, Delft Dashboard starts from Dashboard is set to the Model Maker Toolbox.

Besides the Delft3D-FLOW model, Delft3D-WAVE, and XBeach are supported. D-Flow FM is currently being implemented.

The Map View window visualizes the map with the bathymetry and/or topography , which will be used to construct the model. As a default, Delft Dashboard starts up with the GEBCO 2008 world bathymetry in the background.

The editing of the steering file, as well as the definition of grid extension, resolution and set-up of the model bathymetry happens within the Working space, at the bottom of the Delft Dashboard home page. It depends on which Model menu is open. When Toolbox is selected one will work in the active Delft Dashboard toolbox ( The items that are displayed, depend on the active tab in the Model menu, e.g. Model Maker toolbox), otherwise one can change settings of the input files of the numerical model Toolbox, Initial conditions or tabs for other settings in the model input files.
