An operator client is a mode in FEWS can be used whereby where the FEWS operator logs in to an online system which then syncronises synchronises with your local interface (operator client). Tasks allocated by the operator client are then sent to the online system for processing.

global.properties (describes global properties relating to the location of folders and other system properties)
Log4jConfig (describes options for compliation compilation of log file log.txt)
clientConfig (describes if the system is standalone or operator client)
fews-splash (display picture on startup)

When running in operator client mode the following addtional additional files are required in the root config:

synchProfiles (describes the amount of data syncronisedsynchronised)
synchChannels (describes syncronisation synchronisation channels with online system)

Three terms for the same thing and all are used. They mean stand for the list of available preset graphs on the left hand side inside the timeSeriesDisplayTimeSeriesDisplay.
