The data in the OpenArchive can be accessed by using the PI-webservice and THREDDS. Scalar data can be read directly from the archive by using the PI-webservice.

Scalar data can be read in pi-xml or pi-json. The catalogue from the OpenArchive can be accessed by the PI-webservice (available from FEWS 2018.02).

This will allow for searching for data sets in the OpenArchive. If the location of a data set is retrieved by using the catalogue it can be accessed by using THREDDS. By using THREDDS the data can be downloaded by using HTTP or accessed by using OpenDAP.

An good example of a third party application which can connect to the PI-webservice is the EVS (Ensemble Verification System). The EVS can use the PI-webservice as a data source. The data in the archive will be accessed by using the seamless integration.
