DelftResultViewer, is a GIS based visualisation tool developed by Deltares (former WL|Delft Hydraulics) aimed at easy dissemintation of (potentially large quantities of) spatial coastal information.

facilitating the use of data and (expert) knowledge in coastal problems. It does so by supporting modellers as much as possible in the efforts needed to set up new models and manage and use existing ones. This means the integration into the system of:

  • information that is freely available online (wind data, wave data, bathymetry, tidal components etc.)
  • tools that are developed in the context of specific projects, but that have a more generic value (tsunami toolbox, hurricane toolbox, ucit toolbox, nesting toolbox etc.)
  • interfaces to the main hydrodynamic and morphodynamic models used at Deltares and Delft University of Technology

The main console of DelftAlmighty shows a map of the world. The interface futhermore facilitates the selection of a specific model, which brings up a userinterface to that model. Finally one can select one of the available toolboxes. Each of the toolboxes should work with each of the model. Information should be able to flow freely in between models and toolboxes.

Potential applications of DelftAlmighty focus on: projects with significant amounts of data that require a well structured approach, areas where projects are carried out on a regular basis, areas where only limited data is available, R&D projects involving data and models etc.
