In this experiment, we investigated the effect of temporal correlation in the error model. Here the setting in Real World Experiment 2 is used (only observed Algal Diatom, Algal Green Algae, and Algal Cyanobacteria from location 5004A10 are assimilated), but then the model error is represented as white noise processes.
Results
The results of this experiment are shown in the figures below. To be complete, we show here the results together with the results of the previous real world experiments. The use of white noise has improved the EnKF results of water temperature.
