Deltares is pleased to announce the availability of Wanda 3.72. This version is the second official release in the 3.7 series and improves the stability and functionality of Wanda. Wanda 3.72 is available via the Downloads & Patches wiki page

Wegens grote belangstelling voor de Wanda Introductie cursus op 24 November (inschrijving is inmiddels gesloten) organiseert Deltares een extra introductie cursus op 10 December 2009.
Deze cursus is bedoeld voor gebruikers die nog geen of weinig ervaring hebben met het gebruik van WANDA.
Tijdens de cursus wordt zowel de Wanda User-interface als algemene modelleringsaspecten behandeld. De workshop geeft de gebruiker de kennis en ervaring om een leidingsysteem uit de praktijk te vertalen naar een numeriek model.

De workshop heeft een zeer interactief karakter, vragen en feedback worden ten alle tijden op prijs gesteld.

De volgende onderdelen worden besproken

• Userinterface:
  • hydraulisch schema tekenen
  • invoeren van eigenschappen
  • raadplegen van uitvoer (grafieken en tabellen)
• Weerstandsberekeningen (Module Engineering)
• Samengestelde grafieken maken van pomp en leidingkarakteristieken
• Simulaties (waterslagberekening) (module transient)
• Toelichting belangrijkste hydraulische componenten
• Modelleringsaspecten - vertaalslag van praktijk naar model
• inleiding Control module

De cursisten maken door middel van presentaties en interactieve opdrachten kennis met de functionaliteit van Wanda. De cursus is gericht op de praktische toepassing van Wanda en is uitermate geschikt voor beginnende gebruikers, ook als deze nog geen ervaring hebben met hydraulische modellering.

U kunt zich aanmelden voor 1 november middels bijgevoegd inschrijfformulier.

Improved in Wanda 3.71h

Issues found since Wanda 3.71g (released on October 10th, 2009).

• Pressure ratio is not calculated in steady states for control valves if initial state is other than 'position'

Due to some recent developments, a new version update to Wanda 3.71 has been released. This version is also compatible with Microsoft Windows 7 and 64-bit systems.

Changes since Wanda 3.71f (released on July 1st, 2009).

• fixed shape definition of Vent inflow/outflow characteristic (missing connect-point, causing unexpected behavior)
• Memory check (total RAM > 64 mb) removed. Caused problems with Windows 7 and 64-bit systems.

Please note that Windows 7 and/or 64-bit systems are not officially supported.

Due to some small issues found in since the release of Wanda 3.71, a new setup has been made available.

Improved in Wanda 3.71e

Issues found since Wanda 3.71 (released on march 23rd 2009).

• Sensor properties are not converted correctly when opening a Wanda 3.70 case.
• PIDSS and PIDSS_N do not switch off and incorrect behavior due to error in input validation under special circumstances (in steady calculation).
• The component-specific output property "Air pressure" of the Vertical non-vented air vessel is incorrectly adjusted for the atmospheric pressure (only in steady calculation).
• The component-specific output property "Gas pressure" of the Damper/surge vessel is incorrectly adjusted for the atmospheric pressure (only in unsteady calculations).

The issues described above do not influence any other components and are fixed in Wanda version 3.71e (executable version 3.71.06)

In June, Deltares (former Delft | Hydraulics) organizes two courses on Pressure Transients. On June 2nd and 3rd, the Introduction course on Pressure Transients, directly followed by the non-recurring Advanced course on pressure transients on June 4th and 5th.

Wanda 3.71 has been released and is avaible via our Download site.

In this version the new Vent/Air valve with inflow and outflow characteristics is available. We also have improved the license authorization and version check and fixed some minor bugs. For a complete list of improvements, please see the release notes and installation guides.

If you have already installed vs 3.70; it is not necessary to update your license file; users which have not installed vs 3.7 yet are strongly recommended to install WANDA vs 3.71 because Wanda 3.60 is no longer supported by our helpdesk.

Wanda 3.70 has been released on 31st of december, 2008. The complete Wanda 3.70 package is available through the Wanda Download page.

For Wanda 3.70, a new license file is required. Wanda 3.70 uses iGrafx Flowcharter 2007, which requires a license key to install. To request your new license file or the Flowcharter license key, please send an email to wanda.support@deltares.nl.

This workshop has been cancelled

Op 22 januari 2009 organiseert Deltares de workshop "Efficiënt werken met Wanda 3.7". Inschrijven kan via onderstaand formulier (Inschrijven is niet langer mogelijk. Deze workshop is geannuleerd).

Deze workshop is met name bestemd voor de regelmatige Wanda gebruiker die de vele mogelijkheden die het programma biedt, beter wilt leren kennen.

Enige basiskennis zowel van Wanda als van de hydraulica wordt verondersteld.

Op woensdag 19 November organiseerde Deltares de WANDA gebruikersdag voor nederlandse gebruikers.

Het afgelopen jaar zijn op diverse fronten ontwikkelingen gerealiseerd die binnenkort voor u ter beschikking komen in een nieuwe WANDA 3 versie. Tevens zijn een aantal andere toepassingsgebieden gedemonstreert waarin WANDA een grote rol heeft gespeeld.
Een ander belangrijk onderdeel was het ontwikkelingspad wat eind 2007 is ingeslagen om het toepassingsgebied van WANDA uit te breiden naar variabele vloeistofeigenschappen (koude/warmte transport, zoet/zout transport), gastransport en 2-fase vraagstukken wat zal leiden tot een nieuwe WANDA 4 familie.
