Simulating 3D Sand Wave Recovery After Pre-sweeping by Delft3D-FM

I am working on my Master thesis, which aims to study sand wave recovery after pre-sweeping before submarine cable installation and capability of Delft3D in simulating the recovery process spatially and temporally. Based on the fact that the knowledge on sand wave recovery processes, in particular the recovery after cable trenching, is scarce, there is a research niche in this aspect. Studying and modelling sand wave recovery have potential benefits to the market, including better construction and maintenance planning and optimisation in dredging equipment. Through desktop study and morphodynamic modelling to be carried out in this thesis, more information related to sand wave recovery mechanisms and Delft3D capability will be revealed. In this thesis, a supercomputer, namely DelftBlue, at Delft University of Technology will also be utilised to reduce computational effort.
