D-Flow Slide is developed specifically for geotechnical engineers. It is a tool to analyse Flowsliding in two-dimensional geometry.
The graphical interfaces requires just a short training period, allowing users to focus their skill directly on the input of the geotechnical data and the subsequent evaluation of the calculated results.
Please double check always your input data of the advanced carefully and discuss the results with @Dick Mastbergen or @Geeralt van den Ham (Deltares)
In this paragraph the major input screens and windows are explained on the basis of a Tutorial (bm-1-1).
De input file can also be downloaded, if you have a legal version of the program.
Main Window: The Cross Section of the problem
All input windows can be found at the Menu bar.
Project contains all input windows for the different models. Only the soil parameters per layer has to be added in the Soil table
By Default only the Global and Detailed models are used. Depending on the selected models, 3 charts (2 global and 1 detailed) or 4,5 charts (Liquefaction and/or Breaching) are shown. In this tutorial we start with the three standard models
The Soil table for the Global and Detailed models (check the filter) contains several parameters.
The description of all these parameters can be found on the page Input parameters.
Add a surface line with the charateristic point, as shown in this table. They have to be in this order!
Make a soilprofile by using de soillayers form the Soil Table.
Add some additional parameters for the models
The detailed model needs some extra parameters.
When all parameters are inputed, you can start the calculation.
If one of the parameters are out of range, a validation message will be given in the table window
When no errors are found, the results are presented. In this case both the global as the detailed models fails
The global results
The detailed results can be found in two different windows.
The advanced models.
Because the Global and Advanced models fails, we have to use the advanced models for a more a more detailed analysis.
Select the Advanced models for Liqeufaction (Sliq2D) and Breach Flow (HMBreach) at Project Info and 5 Charts will be showned.
Check the addional soil table parameters for liqufaction
Check the addional soil table parameters for breaching
Additional parameters for Liquefaction
Additional parameters for Breaching
Restart the calculation. In this case the advanced models indicates no failure of the embankment (both are green).
