As explained on out Getting started page, OpenEarth offers of three free web services, of which two web services are available without any registration:

  • Open and free, without registration:
  • Open and free, with registration:
    • SubVersion server for tools, raw data + scripts (why) and model schematizations. Since 21 october 2011 these are hosted at the general Deltares open source subversion server that also hosts the XBeach and Delft3D code. You can register for a single-sign-on account at this new server at http://oss.deltares.nl/ and click Register in the upper right. This account grants access to the SubVersion server that hosts OpenEarth, XBeach and Delft3D (http://svn.oss.deltares.nl/). There is a dedicated SubVersion migration manual and a SubVersion tutorial.
    • LinkedIn group for news and events.
    • Wiki you are currently reading at http://publicwiki.deltares.nl. (Unfortunately the SubVersion account of http://oss.deltares.nl/ is not yet synchronized with the account for this wiki).

OpenEarth user

If you are looking for specific data, models or tools, you can scroll https://repos.deltares.nl and https://svn.oss.deltares.nl to find a repository of interest. OpenEarth provides the following repositories:

With only your favorite internet browser (IE, Mozilla, Chrome) you can now scroll through the repositories and download individual data files or tools you like. To download all files in a subset of a repository at once (e.g. the full set of essential OpenEarth matlab functions: https://svn.oss.deltares.nl/repos/openearthtools/trunk/matlab/), you need a special free program called TortoiseSVN. Relevant explanation on TortoiseSVN is given in the OpenEarth developer section below.

OpenEarth developer

OpenEarth developers not only use the available code but also contribute to it. To do this efficiently a number of developers tools are available. Please indicate whether you want to be a developer. We grant everyone write access upon request. Follow this link to learn about the five easy steps to become an OpenEarth developer. All steps are also explained in an openEarth Tutorials: repository usage.
