Wanda 4.5.5 release

This is minor bugfix release that addresses the "Invalid procedure call or argument 5 0" error when starting Wanda after installing August 2019 Windows 10 updates (WANDA-3362). See Release notes & Errata for more details on the release.

WANDA 4.5.4 release

This is an important bug fix release that addresses an issue in the Wanda Heat module.  Due to an incorrect interpretation of the heat capacity, the resulting temperature change is not calculated correctly by Wanda.  Users of the Wanda Heat module are advised to upgrade to this version as soon as possible.

WANDA 4.5.3 Release

This is minor bugfix release that addresses the "Overflow 6 0" error on Windows 10 Fall Creators Update. See Release notes & Errata for more details on the release.

WANDA 4.5.2 Release

This is an important bug fix release that addresses the possible undefined behavior found in a few components (see Errata announcement WANDA 4.5.1 for more information). It also addresses a few other small bugs in the user interface, mostly related to the upgrade process of cases made in earlier versions of WANDA (see Release notes & Errata for a complete list).

On February 16th a configuration error was found in Wanda 4.5.1 that could lead to undefined behavior in the following components:
- Air valve (Vent & Vent2Leg)
- Pump when using drive type "Motorfreq"
- Cross (both merging and dividing flow)
- Fast filling pipe
- Orifice

The undefined behavior typically results in a crash, but as the possibility of wrong results cannot be ruled out, we suggest not using Wanda 4.5.1 for calculations involving the above components. On Tuesday the 21st of February the release of Wanda 4.5.2 is scheduled to resolve these issues.

WANDA 4.5 Release

Deltares is pleased to announce the availability of WANDA 4.5. This release marks the sixth release of the WANDA 4 series, and includes many improvements including:

  • The presence of short (8dot3) filenames is no longer required.
  • Writing output data is faster, which is most noticeable when running simulations on network storage.
  • Stability improvements to the Y-junction, the Vent2Leg, and the fast filling pipe.

Wanda 4.5 can be downloaded from the Deltares Download Portal.

Wanda 4.3 Released!

Deltares is pleased to announce the availability of Wanda 4.3. This release is the fourth release of the Wanda 4 series and includes several new features and improvements.

New features include:

  • Two new Heat components: Heat pump (including accurate modelling of the cooling liquid in the internal system of the pump) and heat exchanger with limited temperature variations
  • Improved heat transport algorithm for the heat pipe.
  • the Tap with initial pressure and DeltaP for reopen. This allows for an easier modelling of drinking water distribution networks.
  • Restart From... functionality.
  • Significant performance improvements when simulation large Wanda models

The new setup is available from the Downloads & Patches wiki page

Deltares has released Wanda version 4.2.2. This version is a bugfix release with minor improvements.
This release includes the following fixes and improvements:

  • Fixed crash when importing EPANET model to Wanda Heat
  • Fixed issue when using multiple (>100) RDFile and WRFile components
  • Solved a crash with the Herschel Bulkley friction calculation unders some circumstances
  • Moved Control system evaluation to be calculated directly after steady simulation (only relevant for TAMTAM application
  • Solved issue where initial position of valves was not communicated to control system for initial state <> position

Deltares has released Wanda version 4.2.1. This version is a bugfix release with minor improvements.
This release includes the following fixes and improvements:

  • Improvements to logging facilities, preventing problems in IT environments with security restrictions
  • Resolved an issue where the VENT component (airvalve) would become stuck in an incorrect state under some circumstances.
  • Resolved an issue where Wanda could not read input files due to long paths + filenames
  • Resolved an issue where the inclined airvessel discharge would round down to 0 for low discharges.

New functionality
Added the 'Liquid node with conditional head'. This node allows you to specify the head (similar to the Hnode with initial head), but only when necessary.
When a part of the system is isolated during the steady state computation, the head in that part of the system is not determined by the system. The user can use the H-node with initial Head to solve this problem. However, when using the parameter script, the user cannot switch between certain types of nodes. This node allows the system to specify the head at it's location, but uses a user-specified head when the system can't do this.

These courses are dutch only.
