This page describes how to obtain the backend software, needed for the deployment or the upgrade of a Delft-FEWS client-server system.

Basic procedure

To obtain the Delft-FEWS backend software you should send an email with your request to fews.support@deltares.nl. They will be able to provide you with the relevant installation packages and provide some guidance on what kind of support you may need with the client-server system installation.

Request details

You request should answer the following questions:

  • Which version of Delft-FEWS do you want to use? See here for currently supported versions and check the release notes wiki page for information on the new functionality introduced in the different versions.
  • Which backend components are you going to use:
    • Minimal installation (Master Controller, Admin Interface, one or more Forecasting Shells, Config Manager and Operator Client)
    • Delft-FEWS Web Services
    • Deltares Open Archive Server
    • Delft-FEWS HTTPS database proxy
  • What Operating Systems will you install the components on, and what database type are you going to use? See here for supported OS and database types and versions. Deltares can provide the following packages:
    • zip (OS independent)
    • RPM (Linux)
    • MSI (Windows, only for the base build)
    • A PowerShell installation script can be provided on request, for Windows only installations using SQL Server or Oracle database.
  • What type of installation support do you need, if any:
    • A Deltares technician does the installation for you. This requires remote access to your servers.
    • You install the software yourself, under guidance of a Deltares technician, using a MS Teams (or equivalent) session
    • You install the software yourself, a Deltares technician is standby and will do some basic checks afterwards with you
    • You install the software yourself, no support needed
  • No labels
