GEF-DISS - An exchange format for dissipation tests

Cone penetration tests (CPT) are commonly performed in order to acquire information about the subsoil and its layers. During a CPT the cone is temporarily halted, while the pore pressure is still recorded. This procedure is mainly done in a layer of which one suspects that it is impermeable. The rate of change in pore pressure is proportional to its permeability: the lower the rate, the lower the permeability. A consultant can derive the permeability of a layer, based on the registrations recorded during this type of test. Following the same procedure as during the preparation of GEF-CPT-Report, i.e. in coorporation with companies active in common day geotechnical engineering, CUR committee E15 has prepared a standard of the exchange of results of dissipation tests.

GEF-DISS-Report

The new standard is described in detail in the GEF-DISS-REPORT document.
