  • Open the 'Region_Displays.xls' spreadheet and go to the 'DisplayGroups_plotdef' sheet which contains the plot definitions for Model1. The plot definitions form the first part of the DisplayGroups.xml file (section plot).
  • The 'DisplayGroups_plotdef' sheet should contain all the scenarios and parameters used in either of the models.
    • merging models with the same time step
      • most of the plot definitions can be used for both models, except the plot definitions with plot id 'plot_H_ref_all' (on top of you spreadsheet). Here you have to have a separate plot definition for each model. Copy the section with the plot defintion 'plot_H_ref_all' from spreadsheet of model 2 under the section of the plot definition 'plot_H_ref_all' in the "Region_Displays.xls' sheet. To distinguish between the plot definition of the two models add the model's abbreviation as a postfix to the plot id 'plot_H_ref(all)'. That means you have one plot definition named 'plot_H_ref(all)_Model1' used for plots of model 1 and one plot definition named 'plot_H_ref(all)_Model2' used for plots of model 2.
      • (warning) Note: The plot id for these plots have to be changed accordingly in the sheet 'DisplayGroups_folders'. Here you refer to the plot definitions in the sheet 'DisplayGroups_plotdef'
      • Check if all other plot definitions from the model 2 spreadsheet 'DisplayGroups_plotdef' are represented in the model 1 spreadsheet 'DisplayGroups_plotdef'. Copy all plot definitions for the display groups of Model2 which are not yet represented in the plot definitions of Model1 from the spreadsheet 'Model2_Displays.xls' from the sheet 'DisplayGroups_plotdef' to the sheet 'DisplayGroups" in the 'Region_Displays.xls' spreadheet.
    • merging models with different time step (warning) Note:
        • If you merge two models with different time steps (e.g. time step model 1 is daysOfMonth="01" and time step model 2 is daysOfMonth="01 16") you can't use the same plot definitions for both models. In this case you have to take the same approach as for the 'pot_H_ref(all)' plot definitions when merging models with the same time step (see above) for all plot defintions. All plot defintions have to be copied from the sheet for model 2 to the plot defintions of the merged spreadsheet ('Region_Displays.xls') and the model abbrevation
        have
        • has to be added to each plot defintion as a post-fix. At the end you will have one spreadsheet 'DisplayGroups_plotdef' which contains all plot defintions
        of
        • for model 1 (each plot id contains the model abbreviation of model 1 as a post-fix), followed by all  model plot defintions
        of
        • for model 2 (each plot id contains the model abbreviation of model 2 as a post-fix)
        • (warning) Note: The plot id for these plots have to be changed accordingly in the sheet 'DisplayGroups_folders'. Here you refer to the plot definitions in the sheet 'DisplayGroups_plotdef'
    • Save the spreadsheet 'Region_Displays.xls'
