D-Flow Slide has been developed specifically for geotechnical engineers. It is a tool to perform a (semi-probabilistic) global and (probabilistic) detailed safety assessment on flow sliding in submerged slopes in front of flood defenses. Moreover, it includes two advanced calculation models for analyzing static liquefaction and breach flow, that can be used for a tailor-made safety assessment, if the global and detailed assessments fail.
The graphical interfaces require just a short training period, allowing users to focus their skill directly on the input of the geotechnical data and the subsequent evaluation of the calculated results.

In the next pages, step for step the major input screens and windows are explained on the basis of a simple Tutorial (bm-1-1).
After this, the advanced models are explained in a few steps.
The input file can also be downloaded and used if you have a legal version of the program.

Main Window: The Cross Section of the problem
All input windows can be found as a dropdown list at Project in the Menu bar.
By Default only the Global and Detailed models are used. Depending on the selected models, 3 charts (2 global and 1 detailed) or 4,5 charts (Liquefaction and/or Breaching) will be showned
In this tutorial we start with the three standard models
Start by filling the Soil table for the Global and Detailed models.
The description of all parameters can be found on the page Input parameters.
Add a surface line with the charateristic point, as shown in this table. They have to be in this order!
Make a soilprofile by using de soillayers form the Soil Table.
Add the additional parameters for the models
The detailed model needs some extra parameters.
When all parameters are inputed, you can start the calculation.
If one of the parameters are out of range, a validation message will be given in the table window
When no errors are found, the results are presented.
In this case both the global as the detailed models fails
Global result
The detailed results can be found in two different windows.
the advanced models.
Please check your input data of the advanced carefully and discuss your results with @Dick Mastbergen or @Geeralt van den Ham (Deltares)
Because the Global and Advanced models fails, we have to use the advanced models for a more a more detailed analysis.
Select the Advanced models for Liqeufaction (Sliq2D) and Breach Flow (HMBreach) at Project Info
Check the addional soil table parameters for liqufaction
Check the addional soil table parameters for breaching
Restart the calculation
The models Liquefaction and Breach flow are als selected. 5 Charts will be showned.
In this case the advanced models indicates no failuren of the bank (both are green)
