OpenEarth is the open source intiative to archive, host and disseminate *Data*, *Models* and *Tools* for marine & coastal scientist and engineers. OpenEarth utilises [Subversion repositories|http://subversion.tigris.org/] for storage, back-up and version control of raw data, scripts and source code. OpenEarth products are shared via various levels of web services employing international standards like:
* [netCDF|http://www.unidata.ucar.edu/software/netcdf/]
* [CF parameter meta-data| http://cf-pcmdi.llnl.gov/]
* [EPSG|http://www.epsg.org/]
* [Spatial meta-data codes|http://www.epsg-registry.org/]
* [INSPIRE owner meta-data|http://www.inspire-geoportal.eu]
* [OPeNDAP|http://opendap.org/] (as running operationally for Rijkswaterstaat [MATROOS|http://matroos.deltares.nl/]), and
* [opengis|http://www.opengeospatial.org/]
** web map services ([WMS|http://www.opengeospatial.org/standards/wms],
** web coverage services [WCS|http://www.opengeospatial.org/standards/wcs], and
** web feature services [WFS|http://www.opengeospatial.org/standards/wfs]).
The data collection procedure and the relation between those standards is explained in the figure below and in the [Micore|http://www.micore.eu] [Data Standards] document. based tools

h3. How can I join?

* This *wiki* is intended to be a low-level area to share documents, links and knowledge snippets related to management of Data, Models and Tools. You can post comments below, or edit this wiki when you log in to this site. When you press 'edit' (upper right ) ormatting help is available.
* For the more sophisticated management of Data, Models and Tools the OpenEarth [*SubVersion repositories*|Subversion] are used. You can view the content of the repositories with your browers after logging in or you can [access the repository with a SubVersion client|http://tortoisesvn.tigris.org/], that provides write access as well. A detailed description of the data management can be found in the [Data Standards].
* Processed data are hosted on an [*OPeNDAP*|OPeNDAP] server. You can use existing data on this server, but you are also encouraged to share your own data on this server.
