This guide will explore the use of the Adaptation Support Tool 2.0 by walking through the initial setup and configuration step by step.


First, read, discuss and accept the disclaimer and copyrights. All participants have to understand and agree that the results of the AST are merely indicative and cannot be used for final design and decision making. After accepting the disclaimer and copyrights we can make a start with the tool.

To begin using the AST, select Start a new project or, in case you already have a project select Open existing project.

Map manipulation

The map can be manipulated with several buttons, that are divided depending on their functions into map controls, drawing controls and layers and legend.

 Zoom control: Zoom in

 Button to draw the project area

 Delete button

 Layers selection button

When this button is pressed, several layers can be chosen to be shown in the map, as the layers provided below.

When the legend button is selected, the layers activated can be observed, as shown in the image below.

Set up

After accepting the disclaimer and copyrights and starting and project, search for the area where you want to make the project.
