This guide will explore the use of the Adaptation Support Tool 2.0 by walking through the initial setup and configuration step by step.
First, read, discuss and accept the disclaimer and copyrights. All participants have to understand and agree that the results of the AST are merely indicative and cannot be used for final design and decision making. After accepting the disclaimer and copyrights we can make a start with the tool.

To begin using the AST, select Start a new project or, in case you already have a project select Open existing project.

Map manipulation
The map can be manipulated with several buttons, that are divided depending on their functions into map controls, drawing controls and layers and legend.

When this button is pressed, several layers can be chosen to be shown in the map, as the layers provided below.

When the legend button is selected, the layers activated can be observed, as shown in the image below.

Set up
After accepting the disclaimer and copyrights and starting and project, search for the area where you want to make the project.

The tool will go to the location selected. Afterwards, draw the area of the measure:

Once the area is drawn, the AST will give the total area of the measure.

Press next to continue and fill in all the “project area”parameters. Notice that until all the parameters are not filled in it is not possible to continue to the next step.

Once all the “project area”parameters have been filled in, press DONE to continue. Thereafter, draw the measure in the map. This measure can be a polygon, a line or a point measure.
After drawing the measure, give it a name in “Area name”and click CHOOSE MEASURE to choose the measure wished to apply.

After selecting CHOOSE MEASURE, a list with all the measures will appear, as seen in the image below:

The listed measures have values which are their ranking according to the “project area” parameters previously selected.

In the list with the measures, it is also possible to observed icons, which indicate the climate effect those measures have:
In order to have more information on a certain measure, click LEARN MORE. When clicking LEARN MORE, the climate effect of that measure will be shown, as well as a short description of it and an image.

If that measure is of your interest, select it by clicking CHOOSE. Then a screen to choose the measure depth, its inflow area as well as its radius and width will appear. Notice that depending on the kind of measure (polygon, linear or point), some of those options will not appear.
