This is the public wiki page for the FEWS-PSAM project. FEWS-PSAM is a monitoring and forecasting system for the Guanabara Bay, supporting eco-boats with the removal of floating litter in Guanabara Bay in preparation of the Olympics of 2016.

UEPSAM will have an operational monitoring and modelling system to forecast where major clusters of floating trash would likely be found. Forecasts would be based on a detailed coastal circulation model (based on Delft3D-FLOW), representing tide, density and wind effects. This system could potentially import “anecdotal” information on location and volume of clusters of trash (based on Delft3D-PART), identified whether by local remote sensing methods or by incorporating crowd-sourcing information (starting with the eco-boat pilots themselves).
