Welcome to IWRM-net wiki forum

IWRM-net is an FP6 ERA-Net to bring together national and regional research programmes on Integrated Water Resource Management. This page is designed to support IWRM-net in its quest to detail and prioritise research needs across its partners and wider. It is developed as a simple and quick method to start the debate in preparation for the second joint call due in 2009. The home page of the project can be found here.

Currently these pages can be viewed but not altered by any 'confluence' users. Editing and/or commenting is restricted to those registered and validated. To register click here and send an e-mail to michiel blind at Deltares or Stephen Midgley at SNIFFER who can grant permissions. (permission will only be granted to those involved in IWRM-net such as research funders and researchers) If you wish to get involved then contact Michiel or Stephen.

Research Needs

The process of research need identification

IWRM-Net started this process with its launch event in London, January 2007. over 50 invited guests attended the event and as part of this came up with a series of questions that IWRM-net should tackle. These have been updated through a series of events around Europe and now they will be opened out to a wider audience. The aim is for the site to be updated on a continual basis to reflect the changing priorities and paradigms for water research. The IWRM-Net partners will use these questions to formulate their calls for research and the development of joint programmes.

The Foresight and future scenarios have been developed by Work Package 3, MEEDAT, ADERA-Ecobag and the University of Liege. The series of workshops specifically for long-term research needs culminated in the reports being published. The process is now to link the short and long term needs together to prioritise and ensure that IWRM-Net partners consider both timescales.
