The advantage of running Delft Dashboard as an executable is that the user does not need to have a Matlab license. Nevertheless, installation of the Matlab Compiler Runtime (MCR) v7.11 is required. This installer as well as a setup for Delft Dashboard can be downloaded from the OpenEarth website. This website also provides guidelines for the installation process.

Note that the DelftDashboard executable is created on a Windows x86 machine, which still enables Windows64 users to install the program, but it may not use the full extent of 64-bits potential. Furthermore, Delft Dashboard needs to have writing permissions within the directory it is installed, as it creates directories when it downloads data from eternal servers. This may especially be a problem for users with Windows Vista or Windows 7 as operating system.

Delft Dashboard can be start-up by double clicking the icon that is created on your desktop (or double clicking the executable from the directory in which you installed the program). As for running Delft Dashboard from the Matlab command line, also for the executable an internet connection is needed to be able to start-up and use the program to its full extent.
